Auxiliary Oilers, Replenishment Ships and Logistics Vessels

Considerable experience in auxiliary design and support has been gained at BMT Defence Services in the course of applying the knowledge and expertise of its people to, for example, the following:

  • AEGIR 18R Fleet Replenishment Ship (AOR), part of a family of designs for double-hull vessels. Providing design change management expertise to the UK Ministry of Defence's (MoD) Support Integrated Project Team charged with keeping ships of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary flotilla operating safely and capably at sea.
  • Advising the Canadian Department of National Defence on its Joint Support ships.
  • Examining technical concepts for the UK MoD's proposed Joint Casualty Treatment Ship.

BMT has teamed with Skipskonsulent to develop the Aegir® family of naval task force support ship designs for licensing by local ship-builders.  Aegir offers navies low risk and cost-effective acquisition of highly capable, flexible and environmentally responsible replenishment at sea auxiliaries.
